As the sun set on a brilliant day in the dunes it was quite fitting to end it where the sun rose on our Exodus by Candle Light drive.

As this was our first official night drive we spent a few extra minutes to warm up with a bit more safety distance than usual and as the team’s eyes adjusted to the new feeling of driving with minimal visibility their training kicked in and naturally closed the gap as confidence grew. The first part we spent at a good pace side sloping and finding smooth lines.

After a good warm up it was time to enter the technical area that was dealt with very smoothly, no second tries or stucks but we did have to change track once or twice to avoid some sticky situations and break through to the larger dunes. Here the pace picked up again and the convoy spent some time at a quicker speed side sloping on our way to the rest area.

At the break we switched off all our lights and enjoyed the stars, quiet and the wildlife of some gazelles and oryx that came to drink some water at the oasis. After reminiscing and already discussing our next camping adventure once cooler weather hits, we started our engines and headed into the dark once more to make a bit of dust.

The last part of the drive we increased a bit of challenge and had to deal with a pop out which Javier dealt with in only 6 min. After this we did a bit of a cooldown sprint to the exit with a quick snatch recovery before the end.

The drive finished on time and left our Fellas with big smiles and great sense of accomplishment as this was the first night adventure for many. Thanks to our Expert Javier for some excellent sweeping and Fouad for a good and confident 2nd lead. See you all soon and we will definitely make this a habit to enjoy the desert in cooler temperatures.
