Deep inside the Dunes.
Sunrise over the red sands of Badyerwas truly beautiful. Everyone arriving on time and on shedule.
It has been a while since the last offroader drive so we took our time warming up. A few second tries and stuck situations delt with by our sweepr quite quickly, a few ajustments on following distance started to bring everyone onto a very nice flow.
The midweek drive in this area was a real treat and we had it mostly to our selfs, enjoying the high dunes, deep bowls and steep switches. After playing around the super bowl we headed to the exit slighty ahead of shedule and with 5 min to spare we started to inflate our tiers.
Thank you for our support from Javier and Rathica. Special thanks to Marko for joining.
Hope to catch you all soon on the next drive.

Blast from the past.
It was a terrific pleasant morning with least humidity. It was good to reconnect with old faces (behind the masks). The drive level was as per my expectations with the convoy of 5 moving swiftly through the sands of Sharjah. I really did push my jeep as i could hear her roaring through the soft sand. A little sunshine did obstruct my view on the way up of a steep dune that caught me in a sticky situation but with the supports assistance i was back to pounding the terrain & having a ball of a time. We did technical challenges as well as steep drops n climbs. Overall, i was glad to reunite with the DF family after eons. Lets hope that the next OR drive is not a millennial away.
Thank you
Really enjoyed this area, first time and it did not disappoint!
Thanks to Chef Marc, Rathica, Javier and Marco for the support. It was my second offroader trip and I struggled a little in the warm up with distance, following advice from the team I adjusted and we all got into the grove.
Really enjoyed the sharp switching and big climbs!
Looking forward to the next trip in this area!!
Thanks DFs
Beautiful morning though waking up at 4am was not fun. Temp was just right for an early morning spin.
Marc led a fantastic drive with beautiful lines, high climbs and crests and a few tricky switches – fantastic challenge for Offroaders. The sand was like powder which made sticking to the bowls a challenge. I put Javier to task today getting stuck 3 times – he was gracious throughout ❤️ Fortunately my stucks helped the rest of the convoy use the right momentum. There was good flow and we ended the drive with an adrenalin kick. 👑🚙
Since i was there as a passenger, I would like to add my feedback as well.
First of all i would like to thank Mick for having me in his car, it was amazing experience, but not easy for a driver to be a passenger in an offroader drive specially if it was my first time ever being a passenger in the desert, but Mick was controlling his car very well and pushed it very hard to the limit, even though sometimes he was about to jump to the other side of the dune instead of turning, or maybe that’s my fair😅 but he know the Xterra more than anybody else .
What i saw today is what we are learning to do in advance junior level but in higher altitudes and faster pace, no place for mistakes, egos, cars with mechanical issues and people who don’t follow the leader or any of the support team instructions. Once you reach this level you’ll appreciate and understand why the seniors are very strict about following the same track, fighting gravity, safety distance, etc…, it is just for your safety anf everybody else’s safety.
Thanks guys for the great morning and the hospitality, say you soon 💪🤙
I must share piece of information here. This was first OR trip leaded by @chefmarc in this area. He did it better than lot of “Marshals” who was leading trips in this area. I guess he just clicked with this desert. It’s real pleasure to see how passion, skills and leadership per DF standards are coming together. In this occasion we had opportunity to see different approach in offroad level trips with less talking more driving philosophy. We will try to force a little bit more this area in future as is one of the best around. But also we were lucky that sand was almost intact because of midweek. I was also pleasantly surprised with @s1d performance this morning. He improves a lot. @rathica is solid second lead and @javier is improving every time. @mijoco welcome to the other side is getting only harder from here, no pressure 🙂 Thanks Marc for organizing this trip and rest of you for attending and supporting. Looking forward to see more of you in this area.
Appreciate the pat on my back Boss!!
Thanks everyone I had a real blast this morning, small but powerful convoy and you all made feel comfortable in this area on my first offroader trip. Really looking forward to come back soon with all of you to climb higher and bigger.😉💪🚙💨
