The sand in Al Faqaa was unusually soft for this time of year.

So just a few minutes into the drive , the Cresting Fiesta convoy was in 4 low and slowly ploughing through crests that collapsed effortlessly under the weight of our vehicles.

Although the long rows of dunes looked inviting, riding the crests took extra effort and there were numerous occasions when our cars were pulled towards gravity by the super soft sand on the steep leeward slopes of the low dunes. Thanks to the skill of the drivers in Cresting Fiesta convoy, these rejections by Mother Nature were handled in a completely safe and stress free manner.

After a short break which included a rendezvous with Wrecking Ball convoy, we entered Al Qudra where the cresting action got a lot more high paced and enjoyable.

We ended our drive on schedule, just as the sun was starting to blaze overhead. Thanks for the company Malcolm and Anders. I hope the Golden Girls enjoyed the drive Anders. If they didn’t they’re welcome to join my next fun drive
