Basic training 6
Meeting in Nazwa today, at the same location as our friends from Basic training 5 was quite refreshing, especially since the Basic Training 6 convoy was so small.
We set off in a somewhat leisurely fashion on what would be the final basic training drive for our two participants. During the warm up we made a point of touching on all the skills that were learnt up to this point. As the convoy got to the end of their warm up, the drive took on a slightly different note. Side sloping and see-sawing between dune gauntlets became the dominant feature of the drive and a nice smooth flow was established.
Upon arrival at Big Red, our Junior trainees made light work of the climbs on its westerly slopes and then continued to scale the even higher climbs along the easterly slopes without fault. After a short and well deserved break the convoy proceeded to hone their bowl driving skills by circling every bowl en route to Pink Rock.
At Pink Rock, the basic training 6 convoy briefly visited Chef’s bowl where multiple groups were scattered about the place. Our small, nimble convoy made a few passes around and through the big bowl and exited in the cloud of dust that we created on entry.
The last leg of our trip was a high speed dash to the exit where we joined the basic training 5 convoy to celebrate Pete and Matt’s successful completion of Basic training.
Congratulations on earning your flags Pete and Matt, you both drove extremely well today. We look forward to seeing you on our fun drives where you can fly your new flags with pride.
