Basic training 5
Though we were a smaller group this morning, it seems that almost everyone failed to plan properly and we had a late start.
Once everyone got to the deflation point the days plan and safety briefing was conduct. Wasting no time, the warm up get underway with a quicker pace than usual. On lesson 5 things start to get fall into place and challenge that seemed impossible 4 weeks back are met with ease, skill and composed driving. Even though safety distance was a bit stretched at times, the rest of the teams disciplines were on point.
During the warm up we had a few second tries and one kinetic recovery and after these were out of the way the rest of the drive was with excellent flow towards the larger dunes. Upon reaching Big Red our team work exercise was conducted teaching situational awareness, team work and car control. These Fellas got to grips with this practice and finished it in record time.
With all lessons completed for the day, the fun driving really started to warm up with bigger challenges, more demanding terrain and lines. Even though there were many soft sand patches that made momentum and power difficult to maintain our team was displaying beautiful driving with safe yet fast progression, pushing there machines to their new found limits.
The last part of the drive was spectacular, long silence on the radio indicate the intense focus from everyone and at one point even meeting up with our other classmates in another training convoy.
Thank you Hussam for some great sweeping and to our Fella’s on training, you guys are really starting to show what it means to do some epic off-road dune driving. See you all soon in the dunes.
