Basic training 3

All our trainees arrived early and eager to take on Basic training 3 drive giving us a good head start for a challenging drive ahead.

This drive has got a reputation of being a long one, many lessons to cover and mix of low and slow in the technical area, with quick and dusty on larger slopes, all to put our new Fellas to the challange.

With our morning brief done the warm up started nice and easy with a few second tries, giving everybody some good practice on radio disciplines. The dunes soon opensed up with big and long decents and side slopes commenced buy some steering control exercises.

We reached the open plains to practice a critical technique for car and throttle control witch everyone grasped quickly before we entered the dreaded eggbox area. This is a treacherous area that can easily claim many stuck, second tries and pop outs and indeed today with a large convoy we experienced all of the above. The progress was slow but mostly steady and when we reached the bigger dunes most of us were loosing focus. We stopped the convoy and gave a bit of one on one for those who needed a bit more guidance .

This seem to do wonders as much better driving was displayed and we gained some good flow at higher speeds toward the exit. Thanks to all our Fellas for a long and challenging drive, but we managed to fix many development points as well as add new ones. Keep at it and stay focused you are all progressing strong.

Many thanks to our expert Preggy and sweeper Zoubeir for great sweeping today and 2nd lead from Johann. See you all on the sand soon.
