Basic training 2

Under the cover of darkness there was a brisk bite in the air as the trainees deflated for Basic training lesson 2.

During the saftey brief we were greeted buy the dawn and a beautiful display off hot air balloons that littered the sky, setting a perfect scene of what was to be a challenging but epic drive.

Warmup started with some easy side slopes and sharp crests that got progressively challenging quite quickly resulting in many second tries and rope recoveries, giving our support team a nice workout that warmed them up.

After a good session on side slopes and striaght cresting it was time to enter some technical dunes and if our sweepers where not warmed up enough yet they were about to be challanged even more. The whole team did fantastic even though there were multiple stucks, this plays a critical role in development, knowing what went wrong, learning from it and how to improve in the future.

Finally pushing through the technical dunes we were running behind shedule giving trainees the option to head out because of prior engagements or push through. The few who had commitments were escorted to the saftey exit and the rest push hard onwards to bigger dunes.

The last hour was all about gearing, car control and longer side slopes and here was when they started to shine. Working together as a team they moved as one through the sand, building skill and speed the whole convoy finish extremely strong.

Fantastic driving today team and next week we take even bigger and futher steps. Big thank you to our suport team Zoubeir, Anders and Sven. See you all next week.
