Our convoy was bright an early to the meeting point. This shows good signs of commitment. After deflation, the team was briefed on what lays ahead for the lessons of the day. They were also reminded on their respective development points. The plan of the day was to tidy up as much as possible on those development points while practicing the lesson of the day. Some brain food was also on the menu which really lifted the team spirit.

Warm started in a new area to the trainees and some second tries later, we were at the back of mighty Big Red for the lesson of the day. Trainees had the chance to practice one by one and then as a convoy.

The repetitions ensured that the key elements of distance and convoy discipline quickly fell into place. It was not long before the convoy started to flow through the increased challenges. Following exact tracks proved tricky at some point. However, always remember that gravity is your friend.

The convoy played around the area where double distance and closing the gap came into place. Things really started to click in and soon enough the trainees where in the zone. The dunes started to get bigger, the bowls deeper, but the convoy was up for the challenge.

We made our way to an extended break spot where the majesty of Sharjah’s desert landscape stood out. We also met out teammates from the other training batch and the extended banter helped to cool ourselves down, reset and focus.

From there, the convoy started to head away from Big Red. Along the way, our Senior was given the change to lead the convoy to Chef’s Bowl. Soon after, we breezed past Pink Rock and onto the exit.

Today’s lesson was planned to push our trainees to the limit, and beyond. This is to prepare us for what lies ahead next week.
