Just before the crack of dawn on Friday, our Arrakis adventure kicked off, launching us into another escapade into our corner of the Empty Quarter.

A seemingly endless, three-and-a-half-hour drive over tarmac and gravel to reach our entry point zipped by in the blink of an eye. Excitement bubbled within us as we geared up for the start of our epic journey.

As we deflated our tires, we marinated in the reality of being surrounded by the colossal sand cliffs of Liwa before diving into two days of offroading bliss.

Ahead of us sprawled six hours of soft sand, prompting us to swiftly embark on our journey. Navigating through seemingly infinite passages of challenging dunes, we conquered sabqa after sabqa, some towering over 200 meters.

The driving demanded our full attention, but the breathtaking views acted as a distraction. Regular breaks led us to our halfway point, where we set up camp.

Choosing a camping spot in Liwa is a luxury, and we aimed for a flat ledge atop a massive sand cliff. Although navigating through awkwardly shaped dunes tested our determination, we effortlessly found the perfect spot, overlooking the sky at more than 130 meters.

With camp set up, it was time to kindle the fire, sip on refreshing drinks, prepare dinner, and soak in one of the most beautiful sunsets. The night sky adorned with stars followed, creating a picturesque setting for a peaceful night.

Promptly packing up after breakfast the next morning, we set off to conquer the second half of our adventure. This day mirrored the incredible beauty as we traversed the land more promptly, reaching the exit an hour ahead of schedule.

While inflating our tires, a local farmer extended his hospitality, offering homegrown dates and freshly brewed karak to celebrate our successful crossing and National Day. It added an extra layer of honor to live in a place filled with unmatched beauty, natural splendor, and special people.

Big thanks to Marcin and Alex for an unforgettable experience, looking forward to visit this extraordinary place before the season ends.
