As the National Weekend festivities kicked into full swing, our adventurous convoy embarked on an epic journey through the legendary Empty Quarter.

Liwa, one of the UAE’s most stunning natural wonders, promised both beauty and challenge. Despite its reputation as a treacherous terrain, we, the bold campers, knew it offered some of the most rewarding camping experiences in the world.

Our mission? To cross the vast expanse of the Rub’ al Khali, starting from Hameem, heading toward the border, and exploring as many treasures hidden within the Subkhas as possible.

After a full day of navigating the shifting sands, we set up camp atop a towering dune, hundreds of meters high, rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view. As the sun dipped below the horizon, we lit a fire, grilled a hearty dinner, and soaked in the magic of the desert under a blanket of stars.

The next morning, refreshed and ready for adventure, we packed up and tackled the dunes with determination. Our goal was to reach home by mid-afternoon, craving a well earned hot shower. With a bit of speed and finesse, we glided through the powdery, technical dunes of Liwa, making our way out in style.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone for making this one of the most epic camping adventures! It was the perfect way to celebrate National Day and create unforgettable memories with each of you. Here’s to more adventures hopefully back in the Empty Quarter soon!
