Advanced Junior Lvl 3 – Take 2

Share with your friends!

Today’s trip was an opportunity for our Advanced Juniors to hone their cresting skills in preparation for higher level drives.

The warm up was slow and  technical in an area with small crests that demanded complete focus. After almost an hour of intense concentration the group was ready for a change of pace.

After a short and well deserved mental break the crests got longer, which meant that the pace could be increased, but the crests also got a lot more challenging with unexpected twists and turns. initially, this unanticipated change in direction resulted in a few “off tracks” and “second tries”, but it didn’t take long for our Advanced  Juniors to get the hang of it, and thereafter, they were unstoppable. The convoy moved through the desert like each car was connected to the next with invisible rope. It was a beautiful sight.

The big climbs that followed were riddled with cross tracks which made the ride extremely bumpy and rather uncomfortable. Nonetheless, our advanced Juniors could not be deterred, they just put the peddle to the metal and climbed higher and faster on each attempt – it was a sight to behold .

Thanks Marshall Marc for guiding and encouraging our learners to improve their technique and push themselves further.  The support team did an incredible job in assisting with the smooth execution of this trip – thanks Javier (SW), Mick (SL) and Hussam (SL).

  3. I really enjoyed the trip. Starting nice and early at 17 degrees!
the first part of the drive was demanding but enjoyable with the cool air and exhaust sounds. once the crests opened up, it was bliss.
pink rock are was quite choppy and bumpy but we managed to take on the climbs. convoy discipline meant no one dares to cross ours.
    onto the next!
A word for Lucas: gutted he could not make it due to the early morning flat tyre.
