Junior level 2

Great to be out before sunrise again.

An early start at 6 am, a few Fellas slightly late so lets make sure we are ready to drive on time next week.

Trip started with gentle warm up. A few second trys but all managed well by sweeper. Convoy was moving well and the pace picked up towads technical area. Fellas got a chance r6o feel first bite of Low range grears and how rhe car reacts, with more torque technique was easier to hone.

As we moved to bigger hills the striaght creasing got challenging with multiple second tries, stuck and nasty pop out but with good team work everyone moved through.

At this point we were running behind shedule so we gave Fellas the option to exit or to stay and complete the lvl. 2 fellas had other commitments so 2nd lead took them to the exit while the rest stayed to finish. After sim6e little hill clims and side slope in high and low range Fellas were feeling more connected with thier cars. Unfortunately we had one Fella who’s steering damper broke so we move slowly towards the exit.

Even though we finished a bit late everyone was in high spirits and felt pleased they have a good fondation to build on progress for the next trip.

Thanks to Michael and Sujith for thier support.

  1. Catch you all on the sand next week, you all did amazing job today.

To enjoy a sunset is always something special. Even more special when you share a coffee with the fellas looking at the morning sky colors.

For a junior drive, let say it was a very interesting one where demanding driving skills where required. Demanding because the idea of this junior drive as explained by Chef Marc in the briefing before the ride was to use the momentum. Not the speed but the momentum…
After a quick warm up, the convoy faced some challenges. Mainly straight cresting on sharp dunes.
The slope excercice to feel our cars using the hi and low gearbox was an outstanding one to feel how momentum is everything and speed is not mandatory (to be noted that gravity was grabbing us all exactly at the same location on the slope wether you were in hi or low4 with different speeds and cars. If a physics specialist could give me the scientific answer, i am up to it ! πŸ˜‰)

How not to thank Chef Marc for its amazing opening and his constant and constructive feedback and driving tips, Michael for this second lead (thanks to always remind us tp keep the convoy together) and Sujith for his sweeping skills (the v8 sound in the sharp dunes is awesome !).

Looking forward to the next drive !!!

  3. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to see the sunrise with a freshly brewed cup of coffee by barista Vic and the other fellas, it was the calm before the storm and gave us a moment to to appreciate the quite dessert before the drive. As always Chef Mark led us perfectly, his calm demeanor gives me great confidence in the sand, thanks Chef.

The skills that we have been taught must really be sinking in, I felt very comfortable and confident today and had a great drive. I am enjoying the drives more, the more I learn.

Driving in 4L was nice to feel the torque of my car, you get the scene of being connected to the ground more with the direct drive to the wheels.

Thanks to second lead and sweep for the great support, its always nice when the convoy flows organically like a snake through the dunes!!

Until next week. it always sucks having to wait a week for the next drive!!

Thanks to Marc and the team for another awesome drive. And to all the Junior Fellas for the company πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„.
See y’all on the sand next week!

  5. Thanks Chef for the nice drive, Sujith for the great sweeper roles. To the rest of the fellas, great job on your smooth performance on those technical areas today. Loved the spirit and camaraderie. Regards

  6. Was an amazing trip this morning! It’s so nice to meet new fellas, I hope we touch sands together in nearest future.

The late comers ChefMarc mentioned above, I have to confess – it was me, and I really sorry!

Thank for ChefMarc, Sujith, Michael for an amazing technical drive, keeping everyone safe and teaching valuable lessons this morning!
