Advanced Junior 2
Different start of a day with heavy rain pouring from 7:30!
We had to delay the start of the trip from 8 to 8:30 because of the lightning bolts.
First part of the trip was mostly side slopes to warm up first and a bit faster pace later.
We did a break and a briefing specific on approach to crest and driving on top of the crest. After that we moved to the practical part on very low dunes to get the Juniors the first taste of cresting. Everyone did very well on the lower dunes. A few stucks and second tries are part of the game.
After the trip picture we started tackling higher dunes and some problems with convoy discipline started to show up. Many more second tries this time and more stucks as well(even me!). Towards the end, drivers were not parking on correct position and not following the track precisely, also mistakes like fighting gravity were displayed. So I decided to finish the trip as drivers were loosing focus. After 57km we drove to the exit where a de-briefing took place.
Juniors, remember: all topics you’ve been learning must be very solid for you to move to the next level. So, always follow the instructions and topics we spoke about on the briefing. It’s the discipline you show now that will make a great off-roader level driver!

Excellent trip today… The day started with heavy rains while deflating but ended with very pleasant weather
We learned a lot about cresting, lots of second tries but practice makes perfect.

Was an adventure today with the rain, thunder cracking overhead and the lightning.
Cresting was fun in the wet.

Loved the drive, as usual the explanation and briefing where on point and made easier something I was unsure on how to approach. Good job in building confidence by slowly increasing challenges and adapting the trip to adverse weather conditions.

Interesting start to the day with a thunderstorm to welcome us into Qudra.
Thiago gave us a nice fast paced drive & introduction to cresting.
Today was a good exercise in how to understand the way your 4X4 reacts to wet sand & driving on chewed up tracks.

This was a great learning trip for me, the detail Tiago went into in explaining the dos and don’ts for cresting was great, I thought he was trying to build an actually practice dune at one stage!
Felt safe the whole which is always a plus when learning!!
