Discover Al Khaznah

We all met at the meeting point this morning to fill with fuel, 90% were on time, let’s make it 100% and respect the starting time on the next. one.

Once all gathered up we made our way to the deflation point, to set the convoy and safety briefing. As we got moving one Fella had transmission issues so had to cut his time short without even kissing the sand.

Once we finally hit the dunes we started our warmup, the dunes were extremely sharp and sand was soft so progress was slow. As we lay down the fresh tracks it was clear that we were the only convoy in the area making us feel like pioneers. This trip was preparing for future trips to Liwas, quite technical and  demanding it was a struggle to get good flow but once we did it was shear bliss.

This didn’t last long as another transmission complication forced us to move towards the exit 15min prematurely after a decent 37km.

This was a very beautiful, challenging area todays reminding us that never underestimate the sand and be prepared for anything.

Thanks to our supports today and a special thank you to Marshall Suhaib for taking us out in this area and bringing everyone out safely with smiles on our faces.

Catch you all on the sand soon.

Amazing drive with amazing team… love to join again.

  3. Honestly, the drive to the meeting point was a bit long, used to traveling to dxb or shj. Drive was very relaxed with frequent breaks. However, i felt i didn’t push my rig as per this levels bar. It was unfortunate a fella had transmission issues and the other had His vehicle malfunctioning. But at the end of the day all the fellas reached home safely and thats what matters.

  4. It was an early start to reach Al Khaznah , but it was well worth to see a new place and drive on different sand and dune chains.
Marshall Suhaib took us step by step through each crest, pointing out the importance of riding on the crest and controlling speed.
Razor sharp crest lessons , It was amazing!

  5. Thanks Marshall Suhaib for a brief introduction to this beautiful part of the country. A lot of care was taken to ensure that the newer off-roaders in the convoy were able to cope with the challenging terrain.
The drive felt a lot shorter than our usual Off-roader drives, perhaps due to the unpredictable nature of the terrain and the inability to achieve a smooth flow.
We had great weather and equally good company. Thanks for the support @Salouh, and nice job on putting this trip together @Marc.

Thank you Marshal for taking us to this amazing area, which we definitely have to revisit as there is still some unfinished business. Thanks Chef for your support and thank you fellas for the wonderful company and team spirit. As for the malfunctions I hope they are not serious and the cars will be back on the sand by the weekend.
