The Hodgepodge
Despite the excellent, cold weather, we got a slightly late start today. However, after a proper warm-up in the Nahil Pond area, we were fully prepared to enter Nahil itself. We moved at a fast pace, conquering dune after dune. There were moments it felt less like driving and more like flying in our beloved vehicles.
It was an amazing start, full of fun, as we pushed ourselves to utilize Nahil’s terrain to its absolute fullest. Riding a wave of adrenaline, we completed the first half of our trip. After crossing the pavement, we emerged on the Ramalat side, where the bowls were waiting for us.
The feeling of switching between these two off-road experiences was incredible. It provided a clear understanding and a tangible feel for the different techniques required to conquer classic dunes versus the unique challenges of the bowls. We quickly switched to ‘bowls mode’ after some playtime in the G Bowl, proceeding to explore every bowl in the area. Despite the many existing tracks, we discovered fantastic untouched areas, ensuring our drive remained exciting and full of fun.
Today’s journey was a satisfying long-range drive, covering over 100 km—a route we must certainly repeat. A special thank you to Jassim for joining convoy today and for maintaining a flawless, smooth rhythm throughout the drive.
This was another wonderful morning that will energize us for the entire week ahead. Looking forward to seeing you on the sand again soon!
