Lesson Two: Fog, Fun & Forward Momentum

Lesson two of basic training kicked off this morning with a surprise twist, an incredibly thick blanket of fog! It made our first task, finding the deflation point, a lot more interesting than usual.

Thanks to the mysterious mist, we had a bit of a later start than planned while our students navigated their way to the GPS coordinates. After a quick briefing and a rundown of the day’s objectives, we headed into the dense fog for a warm-up and dove straight into some technical driving. As expected, there were a few stucks, some second attempts, and a whole lot of learning. Eventually, the fog began to lift, and it was the perfect moment to pause for a quick break.

Next on the agenda: mastering low gear ratio driving. This part of the lesson really helps strengthen the connection between driver and car, laying solid groundwork for the adventures ahead.

With all objectives checked off, we began making our way to the exit. The pace picked up, demanding a slightly heavier foot. Just before reaching the inflation point, our ever reliable safety officer, Sweeper Anders, sprang into action with a lightning-fast pop-out fix. Thanks to his exceptional skills, we all made it out safely and are now even more excited for next week’s desert escapades.

Great progress today, team! Can’t wait to hit the dunes again soon.
