Very foggy morning. Everyone on time! Thumbs up Fellas!

We did the briefing and I explained the techniques on how to approach to crest on the slope. That was the emphasis of our trip.

After definition of the convoy order we did a radio check and started moving to the warm up area. Visibility was at 100-150 meters. Although challenging nobody left the convoy stretch. After warm up visibility improved and we moved to bigger slopes.

Once I was comfortable that everybody was feeling confident and no mistakes were made, we start to tackle the bigger slopes and increased the speed little by little. Was beautiful to see the whole convoy in the snake trails moving in a very fluid way and keeping perfect distance to the car in front!

We had several second tries and only three stucks. First one the vehicle stopped on the side of the slope in a very dangerous position, I used some Fellas as ballast in the opposite side and moved shoveled some sand to allow for a safe self recovery! Second was a classic stuck on top of a straight crest, this time we had to use the snatch strap. Third one got stuck near a ditch with soft sand and ano rope recovery was safely performed.

After 3:15 and 54km of exciting drive we exited at the meeting point 10 minutes later than the original plan.

Thanks everyone for joinning this trip!

Please leave your feedback, its very important!

Tiago the trip was fantastic. The level of difficulty was increased and really gave me a new level of confidence in my driving. The paths chosen made me push the car and learn the limits especially in the side slopes. With every drive the more I want to go further. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. It was a lovely morning. I was anticipating a late start due to fog. However our Lead Tiago was brave enough to start with Fog and he stressed importance of being having proper safety distance and not stretching much.

The best thing about Redbaron is that he makes the team very comfortable and welcoming. The warm up was quick and we proceed with good pace. Even though Tiago makes people feel like things are simple and straight forward he has really pushed the team and everybody performed extremely well. I am 100% sure that no prospects with such less number of drives could drive like the way they drove yesterday in any other groups in UAE. Maintaining safe distance, keeping the exact track, communication and everything was as the lead and sweeper wanted. Our Pradeep did excellent job with guiding the team with second tries and self recovery. He constantly kept the lead posted about things in the back.

    Kudos to DF. ๐ŸคŸ

This was an amazing trip to learn several important skills we will have to practice and keep in mind always. I left the trip felling much more confident on the do and don’ts when driving in the desert. Thank you Thiago for giving us space to learn with each other’s slips and for assisting in challenging situations. Specially passing confidence and assurance when I got stuck in a difficult part of the dune, keeping everything under control and order. Karen was also very communicative and helped a lot passing important information to keep the ride smooth.

Thank you everyone for being such a friendly and fun group to ride with.
