Cresting Intro
Today was a very special day because we proved many things to ourselves. When I think about some of you just a couple of months ago, the improvement is just unbelievable.
Everyone was ready to start the drive at 16:00. Respect!!! We started with lesson about cresting till 16:25, and then we started driving. After warm up, we faced first challenge with Kiko’s car who went off and we had first official towing out from the desert. We had several stucks with self recovery and 2 stucks with rope recovery.
Rest of the trip we found some weak points and we are going to work on them in the next drives.
First I would like to thank to my supporting team, Karen as second lead, Salah as sweeper and Tiago as side sweeper. You guys did flawless job and thank you for support.
Feedback:
Kunal: I was expecting more mistakes from you but you caught me by surprise. Second tries are normal thing at this point, we only need a little bit more attention on fishtailing. I’d like to avoid those situations at this point and save it for later.
Mohamed: I remember your stucks from very beginning and now you’re fare away from there. Completely different driver. What I need from you is to pay attention to distance in the future. Please work on that because today I warned you too many times. We are still facing issues with following tracks. Also I know you’re intelligent guy and you can do more things in the same time, but I need you to focus a little bit better during our short breaks and debriefings. You are gonna make fine driver for sure, just take this advices and don’t forget that we are tracking your performance.
Kiko: You are like standard member of team. You showed us lot’s of talent and you have this offroader sparke in your eyes. I just need a little bit better communication over radio.
Sid: You’re offroader and you did all challenges nice and technically correct as you should.
I missed today Michael and Pradeep.

Although i wasn’t there in person, my spirit was there with you all. Looking forward to catching up after vacation. BTW DF feedbacks in the trips reports look fine and constructive for me (My thoughts ).

Cresting is always daunting but follow the teaching advice and you will build your skills and confidence to tackle any crest. My biggest fear was “How would I get back into the convoy/crest if I jump off the crest?” Now I just go for it – you will too after the next Cresting drive👍🏼
@Kiko – so sorry to hear about your car troubles. You drove amazingly last week so hope your Jeep gets fixed soon 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I’ll be heading to California now but hopefully he’ll be in top condition when I’m back and I’ll be on the sand again before I miss it too much.
Thank you Marko the trip was very useful today. Although I was next to Kiko all the time, I enjoyed the recoveries I had to make.

I think my daughter was a good luck charm as she made me confident on the entire journey. Nice to meet kids of the Pereira’s too. This drive was a breeze, hope to push it to the next level soon. Until then “daddy shark do do do do do…”
