FRESH START 2 (AB INITIO 5)
Great start with all member at deflation point on time. We really appreciate that Fellas!
After the safety briefing, the group was divided into two convoys, Offroaders led by Marko with Karen and Pradeep and juniors led by Tiago with Tariq as second lead followed by Mohamed and Mike as sweeper.
We drove towards Amir’s Hill. Convoys more or less side by side. After a warm-up, the Junior started hiting the side slopes while Offroader convoy went for crest training. Junior convoy went on a very technical area, after some second tries a few stucks we met Offroader convoy on top of Amir’s Hill where we had a break.
After the break, we formed a single convoy towards the exit. On the way we experienced much higher speeds in a less technical area and higher slopes.
OFFROADERS:
Today’s challenge was high pace with cresting in difficult terrain with sun behind the back. I was doing my best to leave them behind to see how they will respond on challenge once they lost the track. Everyone did it great and we had only one stuck with recovery. During this trip I was increasing challenges and response was right. Along the way we detect some issues and now we can work on them. Several times we scared our dear Juniors and we will make sure to change this in a future to keep safety standards high.
KAREN: Rapidly getting back on the track, easily finding way back to convoy. Your confidence is back! You have fine sense for engine and high revs when necessary. You answered all challenges perfectly including one when track was lost. Keep doing it this way.
PRADEEP: You are becoming better with each and every drive. Finally we’re talking… I would like to see less accidentally jumps, we must work on that in next few trips. You are totally different driver now, and I’m proud of you.
Overall I’m very happy with Karen’s and PraJeep’s performance today.
JUNIORS:
TARIQ ALDHASI: I’m very impressed with your improvement, nice control of the car and nice second lead, thanks! Keep up the good job!
Don’t forget that from next trip on, you need full recovery and safety equipment. A TOW LINE is not a SNATCH STRAP! I also advise you to get SOFT SHACKLE instead of the metal one, they are much safer and you can find them at ACE or SPEEDEX!
MOHAMED HAZEM: Much more confident today you also improved a lot. Nice control of the car but remember, when we say PUSH your car, we mean PEDAL TO THE METAL, FLOOR IT, MAN! You will not damage your car by doing that!
MIKE GARCIA: Much more relaxed today, displayed nice control of the car as well as good power management! You have to work on keeping the distance to the car in front of you. If you don’t keep the distance the convoy start stretching and it becomes difficult for the leader to keep track of it.
For the Juniors: Remember to always read back radio calls! If the trip leader says: “one car left” the driver following must readback: “ok(or roger), one car left”.
Guys, it was a hot but pleasant afternoon. Thank you all for coming and thanks Marko for the opportunity to lead one more trips!
