Trail Blazers Camp
Well finally we made it back to Abu Dhabi and the Trail Blazers Camp was one of the most epic ever!
We choose a new area to explore, after having heard many good things about Bu Tais I don’t think we were prepared for the majesty of this place. Once reaching the camp we quickly set up and eager to start the drive towards the giant dunes in the distance.
Drive started fast paced and just increases with some massive climbs and cresting which felt like we were on the edge of the world. The highlight of the drive was probably the biggest and longest bowl I have ever seen with a few crests and switches in between and after a few short hours that felt like 20 mins, it was time to head back to camp.
With fire lit, birthday candles blown out this small group of Fellas sat round the BBQ telling stories, feasting on good food and enjoying being out in nature to the full. The best part was going back and concurring the dunes all over again in the morning.
Thanks again VIP supporters for one of the best birthdays ever, I would not of spent it any other way. Let’s go back again very soon.

Well, this was a trip to remember!
Not only that dunes and terrain were amazing, but the company was good spirited, fun and made this lonely dunes feel like home.
I was thrilled in both the drives, I made my highest climb and we all made it look easy, while it wasn’t.
This is how friendships for life are built, I am thankful for Marshall Marc for having organized this trip (Oysters and all of the other things too), Preggy for all of the support, wisdom and SA Lamb Biryani and deserts, and Zoubeir for sweep and staying up late until maybe 9:40. Vic and Johann for the great company and team spirit.
Evidently, the wind didn’t change in 45 minutes (for those who know), but surely we have and we will, thanks to DF for making this change possible.
Thanks mates, really a pleasure.
@zoubeir : 9.40pm ??? Really ?? 😉
It was one to remember! Planning the trip started well ahead and everyone was pumped for the weekend.
The sense of community, helping each other and sharing food was beautiful. We had food from different places of the world whilst having a good laugh.
The drive amongst those big dunes is truly blissful and humbling. Such pristine desert, magnificent greens and the sound of silence. I wish we had such big dunes closer to Dubai. But then, it makes it even more special because we do not go there often. It’s one of those places to be cherished.
Shoutout to Javier who was unable to join us 🙁 I’m sure he will be there on the next one.
Thanks Chef Marc for organizing this and HAPPY BIRTHDAY again on behalf of everyone who contributed to your birthday present 🙂
Thank you everyone (Preggy, Hussam, Victor, Johann) who joined and made this trip a successful one. Food was shared, laughs were echoed in the desert and bonds were made, for life!
Desert…
…FELLAS! 🙂
Or when magic happens !
